Overall, the concept is pretty cool. The app is very easy to use. Hopefully they will correct issues on mixing letters and numbers. Will be great if simply scanning the barcode would get all the details of the receipt instead of having to scan the entire receipt (see below). Would like to see more retailers added as well. Ill definitely continue to try and use the app. Every little bit of savings helps!
Con:
-Currently only available for a few retailers. Big box true grocery stores are not included (Kroger, Publix, Costco, SAMs, Meijer, etc.). Only Walmart and Target are available.
-A lot of the characters are read wrong or in complete. A zero mistaken for the letter "O", an incomplete zero for the letter "J", five for an "S", etc. One of the numbers was read as a %. I tried holding my phone in place longer in the same spot of the receipt, shifting slightly to see if a different angle would help (other than straight above) but the app crashed three times.
- On my Target receipt, I had purchased 33 items, I scanned it 3 times and every time different items were not recognized (6-10 each time). These were common items (Tide, Downey).
-I was only able to get the barcode on the receipt to scan once. Not sure what the purpose is since you still have to scan the remainder of the receipt. Seems like a waste.
-App times out/ crashes for longer receipts. This happened to me multiple times.
-I forget to scan the receipt while at the store. Would be a nice feature if locations services or GPS was incorporated to remind you. Its not a huge deal to get the savings next time in at the store, but if you dont go within the window, the you miss out.
