Windfall - Save Money After You Shop App Reviews

Nifty!

Very cool app!

Dont bother

The app is easy to use which is a plus. However it often doesnt recognize items, so it cant check the price. In addition it *might* check for better prices when you submit the receipt, but it definitely does not check/notify you during the 14-30 days when you are still eligible for a price match if there is a sale or price change. For a few weeks I received no notifications. When I was in store at Target I saw a better price. Windfall showed no savings. I brought my receipt in anyway the next day and saved $2. Emailed Windfall and got no response. Who know how much other savings I missed out on. Just deleted the app. Too bad it doesnt work. It is a cool idea.

Not worth it

When it checks my Walmart receipts it never finds lower prices but the Walmart app always finds lower prices on every receipt I scan.

Awesome, saved $20!

Such a great concept - changes the feeling of being in a physical store. Before I was constantly wondering if there was a better deal online or in a different store, but no its no sweat, I just buy what I need, scan it, and Im covered. Biggest saving was $20 on a set of wifi lights and Im proud of it!

Best money saving app!

Saves me money all around town. Best app out there for a penny pincher like me

Really buggy hard to use.

Tried scanning the receipt, app kept closing saying bad scan. Couldnt even get the app to work.

Pretty cool

Really legit app, I end up getting cash back most times I shop. Took me a few tries to figure out the scanning but then it was super easy. Free money =

Hyvee

You guys should add hyvee and fareway

Crashes a lot

Every time I try to scan my receipt it will crash because it takes forever to scan because you have to hold it flat facing down in the air without shaking. Not very good stability and I havent been able to scan on in to get any money back.

BIG waste of time

Very hard to scan receipts. It constantly tells you to keep steady even though youre as steady as possible. Already removed the app!

Waste of time if you use at Target

The concept is great. Scanned my receipts with out a problem. Found a price match at Target, what I bought was lower on their website. I went back to the store and Targets price match policy is worthless. You cant use the app as the FAQ in the app say, you have to have the receipt since the store does not recognize the app. And if you used a coupon they wont price match the product, even to their own website. If your going to price match at Walmart, you might as well use Savings Catcher in the Walmart app. I deleted it since the store I do most of my grocery shopping at is Target and I dont want to deal with their price matching policy.

Nice app!!

Just used the app for the first time. Takes the leg work out of post transaction price matching. It found savings on my Target receipt instantly. You have to take you original receipt to customer service to claim the refund. The app points you to the online competitors ad showing the match price. Awesome!

Cannot scan receipts

I tried scanning my receipts and the screen stays black so I cannot scan. I tried uninstalling, reinstalling, and turning my phone on and off. Still doesnt work. I doubt it is a problem with my device because all my other apps using the camera works fine. Also, i just got my phone a few days ago so I havent had time to break it ;p I like the concept of the app, but im deleting it for now. Maybe ill try again when I see more positive reviews.

Wow! Great way to save

I found it super fun and easy to use, the scan worked great and found all my items. I did it while I was still at Target so took receipt to service and they gave me the $$! Definitely recommend!

Best app ever

I use this app every week, and foud out that I save tons of money. Best app ever to me.

Cool Concept!

Very cool idea. Was able to save some money for Christmas shopping at Target. Looking forward to using it again!

Store doesnt recognize App even though theyre featured

Went to get my "savings" at Walmart. Employees never heard of it, but were kind enough to scan the code to attempt my refund. Sadly the barcode was not recognized by their system so I went out of my way to a store I didnt need to be at for nothing. Perhaps in time when the app becomes more established, but it seems to me that a store featured in the app should know whats going on. Plus there are apps that credit you savings without you doing all the leg work to retrieve the savings.

Ibotta is where its at.

I love the concept of this idea but the fact is going back to the store regardless of whether or not youre going future to actually get your savings is ridiculous this app needs to make it so where you get your money deposited back into an account or some kind of thing like I bought it because I bought a makes it quick simple and to the point. Not to mention that when Im scanning my receipts it continues to tell me that my receipt couldnt be saved because of bad connectivity which is ridiculous it did it over and over again.

Zero star if possible

download at your own risk! Tried to scan a ONE item target receipt - took SEVERAL long attempt - told to move down, then hold still, then move down, then hold still - REPEAT and all for ONE item! finally scanned, then said it couldnt save it - try again later - BET ME! WORST though, was ap got caught in some kind of loop - couldnt close ap, tried turning off phone - couldnt do either! phone locked up on this nonsense app for 5 minutes or so!

Lunch for free!!!

I spent $126 at Home depot and Windfall found $6 savings which I used to buy a delicious lunch.
