Windfall - Save Money After You Shop App Reviews

I was hesitant at first but once I tried it I was convinced. It was super easy to put the receipt in. It sometimes doesnt recognize products (generic store brand) which is fine. The only complaint I have is that if you mess up on a receipt you cant delete past receipts or mess up receipts. I would also like for them to add more stores. Other than that I love this app.

Ok so the trick to getting a refund at Target is showing them how the prices changed on the actual products that you bought. Target’s customer service will then use their iPad just to make sure the lower prices are real and then you get monies back in your pocket. Seriously could not be simpler. You rock Windfall! Keep adding stores please :)

This app has already saved me over $20 on my holiday shopping at Target, Walmart, and Toysrus. All I had to do was show the lower prices to customer service and they handed me the difference in cash. Highly recommended!

I tried everything to get this app to scan. It was a Walmart receipt it wouldnt scan the barcode the QR code or the products listed on the receipt. I even tried it hands off for fear that it was just too much movement to scan. It never did scan it just kept flashing green over the numbers and the products. It never give me the checkmark that it was successful.

Overall, the concept is pretty cool. The app is very easy to use. Hopefully they will correct issues on mixing letters and numbers. Will be great if simply scanning the barcode would get all the details of the receipt instead of having to scan the entire receipt (see below). Would like to see more retailers added as well. Ill definitely continue to try and use the app. Every little bit of savings helps! Con: -Currently only available for a few retailers. Big box true grocery stores are not included (Kroger, Publix, Costco, SAMs, Meijer, etc.). Only Walmart and Target are available. -A lot of the characters are read wrong or in complete. A zero mistaken for the letter "O", an incomplete zero for the letter "J", five for an "S", etc. One of the numbers was read as a %. I tried holding my phone in place longer in the same spot of the receipt, shifting slightly to see if a different angle would help (other than straight above) but the app crashed three times. - On my Target receipt, I had purchased 33 items, I scanned it 3 times and every time different items were not recognized (6-10 each time). These were common items (Tide, Downey). -I was only able to get the barcode on the receipt to scan once. Not sure what the purpose is since you still have to scan the remainder of the receipt. Seems like a waste. -App times out/ crashes for longer receipts. This happened to me multiple times. -I forget to scan the receipt while at the store. Would be a nice feature if locations services or GPS was incorporated to remind you. Its not a huge deal to get the savings next time in at the store, but if you dont go within the window, the you miss out.

Will not scan at all!! Wasted a lot of time trying to get it to scan

I have scanned a few receipts knowing there is savings elsewhere and Windfall did not recognize it. Also several items are not picked up when I scan them. Out of the last 13 items purchased only 6 items were recognized. One item not... Tide detergent, which is an item found in all other competing locations. I feel that I am missing savings with app. Hopefully this default can be corrected because the idea behind it is awesome and a great way for families to save anywhere they can.

Need to fix it so you know the date of the receipt, and fix the bug where it turns off during scanning.

This app does not pick up the savings I also use Walmart saving catcher and get savings back from that app I scan my receipts on this app and no savings are showing this app needs to update to reflect the prices in our stores!

Target wouldnt accept my $1.59 cash back. Told me this is a third party app and they would not accept it.

I tried receiving a refund from target but nothing happened when they scanned for the price match.

This app actually works! I saved $7.50 at target yesterday.

I like this app so much! Ive saved money at Walmart and target since Ive used it... And its nice because even if something goes on sale days after you buy it the app notifies you so you can go in and get your $ back :)

I used this app for weeks and it simply doesnt work. They told me Walmart owed me money. I drove 60 miles (closest Walmart) only to find that I am in fact not eligible for a refund and they even laughed to my face when I showed them Windfall. I have friends in the industry and they told me that Windfall and others sell data to marketers and retailers. Im deleting this app. Stay away from this!

I linked my Amazon account but no purchases show up.

I have used this 3 times already and 2 times I got money back. Just make sure you keep your receipts so you can cash it in.

Nothing works, dont give them access to your info.
